In Summer 2019, We Make Good launched a training and employment programme for women from a refugee background in Dublin. Machine knitting, sewing and garment construction and textile printing formed the core of the work, with some hand knitting and crochet thrown into the mix too. From a project employing 3 women part time, we have grown to a full time operation, employing 10 people and producing garments for Irish designers. Our workroom has a mix of skilled and trainee seamstresses and allows for on the job learning in a supportive, nurturing environment. Our team come from various backgrounds of disadvantage and cultures, all brought together by a love of making and a drive to build something together.
