Jonathan design objects that are functional and beautiful. His practical design approach results in products with an aesthetic derived from "form following function". He is passionate about making and fascinated by new and emerging manufacturing technologies. He believes that making locally should be a vital part of the story of an object and endeavours to involve Irish manufacturers in the production of his designs.
As a founder and design partner in the London based design firm DOME studio his work was exhibited at London Design Festival, Clerkenwell Design Week and New Designers. Jonathan has worked with a range of high profile clients including John Lewis, Heals & Co, MADE.com, Tangerine Design studio, GQ, and Element Capital. Jonathan has been shortlisted at shortlisted for the “Future Designs” award from London Design Museum. His final graduation project was purchased by University of Arts London (St Martin’s) for their permanent collection. He has worked as an Architectural Designer at the renowned Henry J Lyons Architects and is a visiting tutor at the Architectural Associations Timber technology research campus in Hooke Park, UK.
