Caroline Gardner talks about how a collective of Charity & Voluntary organisations, with the support of the Department of Justice, are trying to change the way that people and supported along the challenging path from prison to community Caroline is co-founder of Quality Matters, Ireland's largest social research charity, which exists to improve social services for Ireland’s most vulnerable populations. She is also co-founder of We Make Good, a design-based social enterprise seeking to grow manufacturing and design-based social enterprises in Ireland. In additional to its consultancy work – which, to date, has been with over 120 state agencies and charities across Ireland and the EU – Quality Matters leads two key change projects: one working to improve data management and use across the not-for-profit sector to support better decision making; and one which is rolling out trauma-informed care and research to support better service provision. Caroline has a Masters in International Development, is a trained mediator and is Ireland's registered trainer for Social Return on Investment. Connecting all this work is her belief that we need to keep striving to create better systems and supports for people who most need them.
