Even though restrictions are way fewer these days, the recent spikes in cases are moving many of us to return to our masks for situations like public transport shops, if we ever left them in the first place. Like any textile, even reusuable masks should be discarded after many months of use. In the spirit of having to replace yet another set, we have permanently reduced our mask prices, but certainly not our quality - we hope that by we will reach the end of the mask age soon, but in the meantime, we want to make an ethical, quality choice easy for everyone.
Our cloth masks are made by women from a refugee background – present and past employees of The Textile Studio - a charity that provides jobs and training to refugee women. As well as the supporting the women to be leaders in their community this initiative is providing them with much needed income continuity at this difficult time.
The masks are made with 2 layers of quality cotton and 1 layer of WHO approved Spunbond barrier fabric. We have around the ear and around head elastic options.Made from:3 layers of 100% cotton, elastic and a metal nose wire
All surplus from the sale of masks will be used to develop The Textile Studio, an initiative to support women from a refugee or criminal justice background to attain long term employment.
